Liquid: A Light and Strong Modern Table Design

Inspired by Nature and Innovatively Crafted

Liquid was born out of a design assignment at Howest University in Kortrijk, Belgium. The goal was to create a table that is both light in appearance and physically strong. Boets aimed to design a modern dining table that stands out with its innovative look. By drawing inspiration from the fluidity of nature and infusing it with his own design style, Liquid came to life.

What sets Liquid apart is its unique combination of strength and lightness. The table's soft lines and ultrathin profile create a lightweight impression, while the metal finish and pleated corners give it a solid and sturdy appearance. Made from high-quality Epoxy fortified with E-fiber Glass, Liquid weighs only 14 kilos, making it easy to move and versatile enough to fit into any space.

The realization of the Liquid table design is made possible by advancements in manufacturing technology. With continuous innovations, designs that were once difficult to produce have become more manufacturable and affordable. Liquid takes advantage of these possibilities to create a table that is not only visually appealing but also practical and durable.

Measuring 254 x 100 x 75 cm, Liquid can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people. Its powerful elegance and distinctive modern look make it a versatile centerpiece for any workplace or living room. Whether it's used for dining, working, or socializing, Liquid can support all your activities with style and grace.

The Liquid table design project was completed in just two weeks in April 2018 at Howest University. Since then, it has gained recognition and accolades. It was featured on Student Design and Studio Arkhi in July 2018, showcasing its innovative and captivating design.

Mattice Boets has registered Liquid at the Benelux-Bureau of Intellectual Property (BOIP) with the registration number 112147. This ensures the protection of the design's intellectual property rights.

In 2019, Liquid was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life. Liquid's incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology sets it apart as an outstanding and ingenious design.
